CLINTON, Iowa — A fire in the ductwork to a corn germ drier caused minor damage at the Archer Daniels Midland Co. plant in Clinton, a company spokeswoman said.
Firefighters were called to the plant at 1251 Beaver Channel Parkway at 11:34 p.m. Thursday, according to the Clinton Fire Department, and remained on the scene for about an hour and a half. One firefighter suffered a minor burn, but no employees were injured.
The damage was minor, spokeswoman Jessie McKinney said.
It was the second day in a row firefighters had been called to the plant. McKinney said some smoldering coal dust brought firefighters to the plant Wednesday. Damage from that fire also was minor, she said.
