SABULA, Iowa — There will be two names on a special election scheduled this month for a Sabula council position.

Troy Hansen and Tom Leonard filed nominating papers last week to have their names put on the ballot for the Jan. 22 special election.

Sabula council members decided to have a special election rather than make an appointment after four people indicated they were interested in the position. Only two filed nominating petitions for the election.

The election will replace Sandra Figge, who resigned because she moved out of town.
