Crash in Missouri kills Cordova, Ill., man

MACON, Mo. — A Rock Island County man was killed early Tuesday in a one-vehicle accident in Macon County, Mo.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Michael Rick, 29, of Cordova, Ill., was driving his car about 6 a.m. westbound on Route PP in Macon County just east of Minks Drive when he crossed the centerline, ran off the left side of the roadway, hit an embankment and the car began overturning. He was ejected from the vehicle.

Rick was transported to Macon County Samaritan Memorial Hospital in Macon where he was pronounced dead at 7:15 a.m.
