The woman who was found dead in an alley in Davenport was the victim of a homicide, an autopsy revealed, though police are not saying exactly how.

Agnes McFedries-Kennedy, 51, was found Saturday evening lying in the alley in the 1800 block between West 7th and West 8th streets. A couple returning to a residence near the scene discovered the body.

Police are interviewing “people of interest” in the case, said Capt. David Struckman. A significant portion of the criminal investigation division is working case, he added.

Visitation for McFedries-Kennedy is scheduled for today at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home in Davenport. Her funeral will be Saturday at Third Missionary Baptist Church in Davenport.

Family members have declined to comment. In her obituary, they said she had an “abounding sense of humor that automatically gave her a great, genuine almost perpetual smile.” McFedries-Kennedy also had “abiding generosity. If she believed she had something you liked, it was yours, mattering not if it was clothing or a trinket, she would make you take it and in the end convince you that you were doing her a favor.”

McFedries-Kennedy was the daughter of Quad-City auctioneer Scotty McFedries and mother of UFC fighter Andrew McFedries.

She had a lengthy criminal history, which included theft, prostitution, harassing a public official and driving while barred.
