MUSCATINE, Iowa — The Muscatine County Sheriff’s Department is investigating two cases involving suspicious vehicles approaching young girls.

The first incident was reported about 7:15 a.m.

Nov. 29. A young girl waiting for a school bus southwest of West Liberty was approached by a tall white male driving a box truck. The truck was yellow, green and red. It had lettering on the side beginning with “B.” The driver told the girl that he had some roses in the back of the truck and wanted to show them to her. The girl fled the scene.

The second incident was reported about 5 p.m. Tuesday. An older male in a large tan car approached a young girl in Conesville. The male tried to engage the girl in conversation. The girl also fled the scene.

Sheriff’s officials say the two cases do not appear to be related.

Anyone with information regarding these cases are asked to contact the sheriff’s department at (563) 263-6055.
