Quad-City Area Flu Clinics

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that individuals receive flu shots in October or November. These groups should be vaccinated annually:

•   Children ages 6 months to 5 years

•   Pregnant women

•   People 50 years of age and older

•   People of any age with chronic medical conditions

•   People who live in nursing homes and other long term care facilities

•   Household contacts of persons at high risk for complications from the flu

•   Household contacts and out-of-home caregivers of children less than 6 months of age (who are too young to be vaccinated)

•   Healthcare workers

Flu and pneumonia shots will be offered at these times and locations:

Trinity VNHA

Trinity Visiting Nurse and Homecare Association will provide flu and pneumonia shots from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at their office, 106 19th Ave., Suite 101, Moline, beginning Oct. 1. The cost is $30 for flu shots and $40 for pneumonia shots (cash or check). There is no charge for those with Medicare Part B. FluMist also is available for $40. Ages 9 and older are welcome. Genesis VNA and Hospice

Genesis VNA and Hospice will provide flu shots for $37 and pneumonia shots for $40 (cash or check). There is no cost for those with Medicare Part B coverage. For more information, call (563) 421-5500.
