MAQUOKETA, Iowa -- For the second time in 10 days, a person has died in a crash at U.S. 61 and Hurstville Road, just north of Maquoketa.

Jackson County Sheriff deputies said Clifford Daniels, 78, of Miles, died at Jackson County Regional Health Center from injuries he suffered in a two-vehicle accident at 8:29 p.m. Friday.

Another Maquoketa woman, Lois Potter also died in a two-vehicle accident on Nov. 20 at the same intersection.

Deputies said Jeffrey Dellitt, 42 of Bettendorf was driving a 2001 GMC Yukon north on U.S. 61 in the left lane. Daniels was on Hurstville Road driving a 1998 Plymouth Voyager and pulled out in front of the Dellitts vehicle and the two collided.
