CLINTON, Iowa — One person died and two were injured Friday in a two-car collision that occurred Friday, Clinton police said.

The crash occurred at 5:10 p.m. at the intersection of 21st Avenue North and North 2nd Street, police said.

Police said that a 1991 Honda Accord collided with a 1993 Buick LeSabre.

The two passengers in the Accord and the one person in the LeSabre were taken to Mercy Medical Center, Clinton.

Clinton police were notified later that one of the occupants of the Accord died as a result of injuries suffered in the crash.

The names of those involved in the crash were being withheld Saturday until relatives could be notified, police said.
