Victim in Davenport fatality identified

Davenport police officers have released the name of the woman who died Monday in a truck-pedestrian accident at the intersection of Locust and Pine streets on the west side of the city.

Norma Jean Larson, 76, of  Davenport.,  was struck about 2:50 p.m. by a mid-sized pickup truck that was eastbound in the right-hand lane of Locust Street. The woman was crossing southbound in the middle of the block.

Larson was taken to Genesis Medical Center East Rusholme Street, Davenport, where she was pronounced dead, officials said.

Police said the driver of the truck was Jeffery Doran, 16, of Davenport. He was not injured. Although the investigation of the accident continues, police said traffic charges are not anticipated.
