Volunteers needed to fish with soldiers in Rock Island

Rock Island Arsenal’s morale, recreation and welfare office is seeking volunteers for its annual Take a Soldier Fishing program held in conjunction with the American Bass Anglers Midwest Regional Tournament Sept. 28-29.

The deadline to volunteer is Sept. 10. Take a Soldier Fishing will take place from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. during the tournament at Sunset Marina, Rock Island. Sign-up forms are available at quadcitiessports.com or by visiting the Quad-Cities Convention and Visitors Bureau at 102 S. Harrison St., Davenport. Those desiring to volunteer also can e-mail Ken Warren at kwarren@riverratpromotions.com or by calling (319) 721-0152 for more information.

Veterans and military personnel who want to fish at the event can call Bob Lampert at (309) 782-8630.
