Three people were injured Friday in a two-car collision in which alcohol is believed to be a factor, Davenport police said.

The crash occurred at 6:56 p.m. in the 1400 block of West Kimberly Road.

Police said that a 2003 Ford Focus, driven by Paula Meyers, 41, of Silvis, Ill., was heading westbound in the eastbound lanes of Kimberly Road.

Meyers’ car slammed head-on into an eastbound 2002 Honda Accord driven by Sara Bushek, 27, of Davenport.

Meyers and her passenger, James Meyers, 36, of Silvis, and Bushek were each taken to Genesis Medical Center-East Rusholme Street, Davenport, for treatment of serious injuries, police said.

Their conditions were unavailable late Friday.

Charges are pending against Paula Meyers, police said. The accident remains under investigation.
