Clinton City Council member Mark Vulich has announced he will seek a new term in the November election.

Vulich, 50, was appointed to an at-large council position in January 2006 to complete the term of Ed O’Neill, who resigned to take a job with the Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce.

In addition to Vulich’s at-large seat, the council seats in the 2nd and 4th wards and the office of mayor are up for election this year. Rodger Holm, who represents the 4th Ward, has announced his candidacy for mayor.

Joshua Meyer of Clinton also has announced his candidacy for mayor. Mayor LaMetta Wynn has announced she will not seek re-election.

Second Ward council member Mike Kearney has not announced whether he plans to seek re-election, and no other petitions have been filed.

The filing deadline for candidates at City Hall is Sept. 20.
