Lillian Lau, harpist, and Ellen Huntington, flautist, both of the Quad-City Symphony Orchestra, will perform together during a concert at 3 p.m. Sept. 9 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Davenport. A reception and introductory meeting to the Quad-City American Harp Society chapter will be held following the concert.
Donations will be accepted at the door. Harpists in the area want to start a harp chapter in order to hold a few meetings per year, share ideas about music and hold additional harp-related events, such as bringing in guest artists for concerts and master classes. The group also would create a network for sharing harp job referrals.
