Ballet Q-C to audition for ‘Nutcracker’

Ballet Quad-Cities is looking for mice, soldiers and party children of all ages and sizes for its upcoming performance of “The Nutcracker.”

Auditions will be held Sept. 8 with Artistic Director Steve Beirens. Times are 1-2 p.m. for 7- to 9-year-olds, 2-3 p.m. for 10- to 12-year-olds (tumbling experience desired) and 3-4 p.m. for experienced dancers on pointe.

Auditions will be held at Ballet Quad-Cities Studios, 613 17th St., Rock Island. Children should wear either leotards, tights and shoes or comfortable clothing. Hair should be pulled back away from the face. They should enter via the back door entrance to the studio (east side, facing alley).
