Sterling police seek information on string of vehicle burglaries

TODAY: (Updated 8:57 a.m.) STERLING, Ill. — Sterling police is investigating a string of vehicle burglaries that has occurred over the past two weeks and is asking anyone with information about the crimes to contact the department.

The burglaries have occurred throughout the city and have usually included the theft of car stereos and audio equipment, police said.

Police would like anyone who has been a victim of a vehicle burglary but who has not reported it to contact the department and complete a report.

Also, police are urging anyone with information about the crimes to contact the department at (815) 632-6640 or Whiteside County Crime Stoppers at (815) 625-7867.
