CLINTON, Iowa — A Clinton man was injured when the bicycle he was riding was struck by a car.

The accident happened at 11:01 a.m. Thursday at South 4th Street and 2nd Avenue South, Clinton police said. Steven R. Allsup, 47, was riding his bike in the crosswalk, attempting to cross South 4th Street when he was struck by a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer driven by Evan R. Larson, 17, of Cordova, Ill., who was attempting to turn left from 2nd

Avenue South.

Allsup was taken to Mercy Medical Center-Clinton for non-life-threatening injuries, but no condition report was available Friday.  Larson was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian’s right of way.
