TODAY: (Updated 12:25 p.m.) A Rock Island man had the tip of his nose bitten off Sunday after another man allegedly went into his home and attacked him, according to court records.

Joel A. Dennis, 24, was charged Monday in Rock Island County Circuit Court with felony counts of aggravated battery and criminal trespass to a residence.

According to Rock Island police, the incident was reported at 10 a.m. Sunday at a residence in the 500 block of 23rd Avenue. A man and woman were at the residence when Dennis allegedly entered without permission, court records state.

During the incident, Dennis allegedly bit off the tip of the 25-year-old male victim’s nose, causing permanent disfigurement, the charges allege.

Further details about the case were not immediately available.

Dennis was being held Monday at the Rock Island County Jail on $15,000 bond. If released, he was  ordered to have no contact with either person who was at the house.
