International crime scene expert Gary Rini will share facts about investigations during “The CSI Effect” program at the Bettendorf Public Library.
The June 11 presentation is a kick-off for the library’s adult summer reading program, “Just the Facts.”
“CSI Effect” begins at 7 p.m. June 11 and it is geared toward adults. Warning: Rini’s presentation includes photographs from actual cases.
He has more than 30 years experience, with training through the FBI, Secret Service and other professional organizations.
Participants in the summer adult reading program can learn how to write and publish their own mysteries. Jim Sweeney, a Quad-Cities private investigator, will give a presentation at 7 p.m. June 18 on “The Real World of the Private Detective in 2007.”
“This will be a fun and intriguing summer program,” said Pam Collins, the library’s adult and information services manager. Adults can sign up for the adult summer reading program at the Information Services desk. The summer program runs through July 28, and events are free.
