(Updated: 4:57 p.m.) For the second time in two days, North Scott High School is reeling with news that another graduating senior has been involved in an automobile accident. In this one, a student died.

Bret Miller, 17, who was to graduate Sunday, was killed in a single-vehicle rollover accident early today.

The accident occurred at 6:55 a.m. in the 29400 block of Allens Grove Road southeast of Dixon, Scott County Sheriff’s crash investigator Peter Bawden said in a news release.

Miller was driving northwest on Allens Grove Road toward Dixon when his vehicle left the roadway on the west side and traveled through a ditch until striking a driveway at the Dixon Co-Op.

The vehicle came to rest on its top on the other side of the driveway in the west ditch of Allens Grove Road.

Miller was dead at the scene, Bawden said.

The investigation into the accident is expected to be completed within the next week.

In the other accident, three North Scott seniors were injured, one critically, when Justin Robert Wold, 18, lost control of his pickup just after midnight Friday on U.S. 61 about two miles south of DeWitt.

Wold was listed in critical condition at University Hospitals in Iowa City. Two passengers, Kelsey Lee Jenkins, 18, and Alicia Bussian, 18, both of Eldridge, were taken to Genesis Medical Center, East Rusholme Street, Davenport. Bussian was treated and released, and Jenkins was listed in good condition.
