(Updated: 4:37 p.m.) A precautionary boil-water advisory was lifted this morning for residents and businesses along Jersey Ridge Road north of 53rd Street in Davenport.

Water quality tests showed that the water is safe for customers to use, according to a news release issued by Iowa American Water.

The boil-water advisory was issued Thursday after a water main break at the intersection.

Road repair work continues in the area, however, and one westbound lane of 53rd Street still is closed. Iowa American said the lane should reopen sometime during the weekend.
