Camanche — 10 a.m. Monday, Rose Hill Cemetery.
Cambridge, Ill. — 10:30 a.m. Monday, Henry County Courthouse lawn, dedication of Henry County Veterans Memorial. Retired Henry County Judge Clark Barnes will speak. There will be a color guard and music by the Cambridge Marching Band.
Clinton — 10 a.m. Monday, Clinton Lawn Cemetery, 2600 Lincolnway. In the event of rain, the service will be held inside Lemke Funeral Home.
Davenport — 10 a.m. today, Fairmount Cemetery, 3900 Rockingham Road, Davenport. Founder’s Day celebration will be hosted by local German-American organizations and feature historian Scott Christiansen, the Bix Beiderbecke Youth Orchestra and a 21-gun salute by American Legion Post No. 26. Davenport — 9 a.m. Monday, Historic Summit Church on Utica Ridge Road (220th Avenue) and Blackhawk Trail (210th Street), 3.6 miles north of 53rd Street in Davenport. Speaker will be Col. Bruce Elliott, commander of the Joint Manufacturing and Technology Center, Rock Island. After the service, there will be a 21-gun salute in the adjoining cemetery and a fly-over by an F-16 jet.
Davenport — 10 a.m. Monday, Pine Hill Cemetery, 1530 E. 39th St., Davenport. Service will be held in Memorial Chapel.
East Moline — 11 a.m. Monday, Greenview Memorial Gardens, 1201 Avenue of the Cities, East Moline. A short service will be performed by the Colona, Ill., American Legion and will include a 21-gun salute and “Taps.” Light refreshments will follow. An Avenue of Flags will be on display all weekend. Hampton, Ill. — 10 a.m. Monday, soldiers’ monument, 520 1st Ave. After opening ceremonies, flowers are distributed to participants who then walk to the shore and cast the flowers into the river. The group then moves to Brettun & Black Store/Museum where the names of veterans buried in Hampton Cemetery are read. The ceremony ends with “Taps.”
LeClaire, Iowa — 10:30 a.m. Monday, Glendale Cemetery. Veterans will place a wreath at the cemetery’s flag memorial.
LeClaire, Iowa — 11 a.m. Monday, Bridgeview Elementary School, 316 S. 12th St. A service will be conducted with the Rev. Michael Gribbons of Foursquare Calvary Chapel, LeClaire. The Pleasant Valley High School Band will perform.
Lone Tree, Iowa — 10:30 a.m. Monday, Lone Tree Cemetery. There will be music, an invocation, patriotic music, a speech by Navy veteran Jim Russell, a firing squad salute, “Taps” and more. In case of inclement weather, services will be held at the American Legion House. Coffee and cookies at the Legion home will follow the ceremony. More than 250 flags memorializing deceased veterans will fly on the Avenue of Flags.
McCausland, Iowa — 8:30 a.m. Sunday, McCausland Cemetery. American Legion Buffalo Bill Post No. 347 will present a ceremony and rifle salute.
Muscatine, Iowa — 9 a.m. Monday, Muscatine Memorial Park, inside Garden Mausoleum. The theme for the service is “We Are Americans. God Bless Those Who Serve. God Bless Our Loved Ones.” Recording artist Jack Carey and bagpiper John Grimes will perform patriotic and gospel songs. There will be a military rifle salute and a roll call of Iowa soldiers who have made the extreme sacrifice during Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. The roll call also will include individuals buried at the cemetery in the past year.
Princeton, Iowa — 9 a.m. Monday, Bolls Community Center, 428 S. River Drive, Princeton. A service will pay tribute to veterans of the past.
Rock Island — 9 a.m. Monday, Calvary Cemetery, 2901 12th St., Rock Island. Field Mass sponsored by Allouez Council No. 658 of the Knights of Columbus. The Mass will honor all who served in the armed forces, all deceased members of the Knights of Columbus and all those buried in Calvary Cemetery. The Mass will be held in front of the mausoleum at 31st Avenue and 16th Street. Participants may bring lawn chairs. Due to repairs on 31st Avenue, participants should park in the cemetery. Rock Island — Monday, Chippiannock Cemetery, 2901 12th St., Rock Island. An Avenue of Flags will memorialize deceased veterans. The flags are donated by the families of the deceased. The veterans need not be buried at Chippiannock.
National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal — 10:45 a.m. Monday, National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal, Rock Island. Memorial day event, followed by a second ceremony at the Confederate Cemetery. Keynote speaker will be Brig. Gen. James Rogers, commander of Joint Munitions Command, Rock Island Arsenal. The public may enter the Rock Island Arsenal through any gate. Anyone over the age of 16 may be subject to search. Parking will be behind Memorial Park at Rodman Avenue and East Street. Buses will transport guests to the cemetery. Wheelchair-bound guests will be allowed to park at the cemetery. Driving directions to the Arsenal can be found at www.ria.army.mil.
Silvis, Ill. — 11 a.m. today, Hero Street Park, 145 2nd St., with color guards, Marine Moms, Q-C FIST and local digitaries.
West Branch, Iowa — 10 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Monday, Herbert Hoover Library, 210 Parkside Drive, West Branch. A Civil War remembrance program will begin at 1:30 p.m. with a discussion and concert of Civil War music in the auditorium. The Marengo Civil War Band will perform. The concert and discussion will be repeated at 3 p.m. Civil War re-enactors from the 24th Iowa Infantry will display their equipment and discuss camp life and combat from 2:15-3:45 p.m. in the auditorium. Archie Lewis from the Burlington, Cedar Rapids and Northern Railway Co. will offer animated tours of West Branch life at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., noon and 1 p.m.
