Davenport men charged with distributing crack
Two Davenport men made initial appearances in U.S. District Court in Davenport on a charge of distributing crack cocaine for nearly a year.
Brian L. Dickerson and Willie Curry Jr. are charged with distribution and possession of crack cocaine, a Schedule II controlled substance, selling more than 50 grams, according to federal court documents. Another man, Andre L. Williams is also charged.
The men are accused of selling crack out of two Davenport houses, one at 206 E. 12th St., and the second at 809 Perry St., from July 2006 to May 8, according to federal court documents.
Davenport police made several undercover drug buys and also learned about activities at the houses through informants, according to court documents.
On March 7, Dickerson was stopped by police after leaving the house on 12th Street. He was found with 15 grams of crack cocaine, according to court documents. There was search of the house on Perry Street the same day, with officers finding six pill bottles and 32 plastic baggies.
Child endangerment charge filed against pair
ALEDO, Ill. — A child endangerment investigation led to two arrests in Aledo this week.
The probe began May 3 when a 10-month old baby was taken to Trinity Medical Center in Moline and then later airlifted to OSF. St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
“The Department of Children and Family Services called us and had been notified of a possible neglect case,” Aledo Police Chief Mike Sponsler said. “We immediately started working with them on the investigation interviewing people.”
As a result, Randy Ray, 18, and Brandy Havenhill, 22, both of Aledo, were arrested Thursday on warrants charging them with endangering the life and health of a child.
“Through the lengthy interviews we believe that there was some endangerment to the child and maybe some neglect on the adults that were present at the time,” Sponsler said.
Ray and Havenhill have been released from the Mercer County Jail after each posting $2,000 bond.
The child has since been released from the hospital, and the extent of the injuries was not revealed. The relationship between the child and two adults is also unclear.
