LA CROSSE, Wis. — Casey Raisbeck continued his tear at the NAIA Region VII Tournament on Thursday, homering twice as the St. Ambrose baseball team rolled to an 11-4 semifinal win over St. Xavier (Ill.) University at Copeland Park.

Raisbeck, a junior from Orion, Ill., went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored. His two-run shot in the top of the first jumpstarted a five-run inning for the top-seeded Bees (27-16), who have won 14 of 16 entering today’s 11 a.m. championship matchup with Mount Mercy.

A win today — the Bees must be beaten twice to be ousted from the double-elimination tournament — would send Ambrose to an NAIA super regional next Thursday and Friday at a yet-to-be-determined site.

Raisbeck, who had five home runs during the regular season, brought his three-game tournament totals to 8-for-14 batting with three homers, eight RBIs and seven runs scored. His solo blast in the top of the second Thursday put Ambrose in front 6-0 before St. Xavier (31-20) could get on the board.

Justin Mottet allowed two runs on seven hits while striking out six in six innings of work to earn the win on the mound.

Aaron Wulfekuhle, Ryan Lincoln and Tyler Fletcher each had three hits as the Bees pounded out 15 for the second time in three games.
