Soenksen remains return home

(Updated 10:58 a.m.) The remains of Pfc. Katie Soenksen were brought home to Davenport this morning.
Family members gathered at Davenport Municipal Airport to meet the charter jet that carried the remains of Soenksen, who died May 2 in Iraq. A military honor guard also was present.
Soenksen’s funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Davenport. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Wednesday in the auditorium at Davenport North High School. Soenksen graduated from North in 2005.
