U.S. Rep.-elect Bruce Braley, D-Iowa, has announced two Iowans will serve as district directors, to be based in Davenport and Waterloo.
Pete DeKock, 28, a Muscatine native, will be the district director for the eastern part of the district. He’ll be based in Davenport.
DeKock worked for Braley’s political campaign until August before doing field work for the American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees, Council 61, in the runup to the election.
DeKock will oversee Clinton, Delaware, Dubuque, Jackson, Jones and Scott counties.
Braley’s Davenport office will be at 209 W. 4th St., the same location Rep. Jim Nussle, R-Iowa, and Jim Leach, R-Iowa, maintained.
Karen Erickson, 28, a Fairbank native, will be the director for the western part of the district and will be based in Waterloo. She previously worked for the Iowa House Democratic caucus.
Braley also appointed Michael Goodman, 27, a former legislative assistant to U.S. Rep. John Barrow, D-Ga., to be his legislative director. Goodman is a 2001 graduate of Grinnell College. He also worked for former Gov. Roy Barnes of Georgia.
