TODAY: (Updated 1:52 p.m.) Jury selection began this morning in Scott County District Court for three men charged in the killing of 19-year-old Vincelina Howard, who was shot to death Aug. 19.
Two trials are being held for the three defendants.
Jury manager Donna Lopez said 75 people were called for the trial of Ron Jarel Millbrook and 100 were called for the trial of his co-defendants, Terrell O. Lobley and Don White Jr.
The trials are expected to last until Friday, and the juries could be seated by the end of today.
Millbrook, 20; Lobley, 18, and White 21, are each charged with first-degree murder and willful injury. The case against a fourth suspect, Rasheem Bogan, 15, was moved from juvenile to district court recently, but his trial will have to wait because of that recent change.
The trials are being separated because Millbrook gave a statement to authorities that can be used in his case, but not in the cases of his co-defendants.
