Larry Fisher/QUAD-CITY TIMES -- Pete Pohlmann, chairman of Lujack's Northpark Auto Plaza, announces the sale of the dealership as his son, Grant, and wife, Mary, listen at right.

After more than 50 years of family ownership, Lujack’s automotive dealership has been sold to  Indiana’s largest dealer — but will keep the Lujack’s name.

Lujack’s officials made the announcement this afternoon during a news conference at the Lujack’s Lexus dealership site in Davenport.

The business has been sold to Gurley-Leep Automotive Family, headquartered in South Bend, Ind.

Lujack’s currently sells Audi, Chevrolet, Honda, Hyundai, Jaguar, KIA, Lexus, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Porsche, Saturn, Subaru and Volkswagen, according to its Web site at www.lujack.com.

The transaction is expected to close in spring 2007. The purchase price was not disclosed, but the buyers said that all present Lujack’s employees would be retained.
