Humanities Iowa awards $7,720 to Q-C groups

Humanities Iowa, the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities, has awarded $7,720 to organizations in the Quad-City area.

The Bettendorf Public Library received $4,220 for presentations by poet Naomi Shihab Nye. CommUniversity in Davenport received $3,500 for its annual continuing education series, CommUniversity Celebrates Lifeline Learning Festival, to be held in February at St. Ambrose University, Davenport.

Humanities Iowa is a private, non-profit state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities whose mission it to enhance the civic life, culture and identity of Iowans. Drawing on history, literature, philosophy, law and other humanities fields, it fosters lifeline learning, critical thinking and community connections.
