The identity of the person killed Sunday in a one-car crash near the Mercer/Knox counties line was released Monday afternoon.

Aaron Jones, 29, of North Henderson, Ill., was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:45 a.m. Sunday.

His identity was released after an autopsy and notification of family. Mercer County Coroner Ron McNall said Jones died of upper chest trauma.

The crash occurred on 20th Avenue, east of North Henderson. Another person suffered severe injuries and was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center in Galesburg. The identity of that victim has not yet been released by the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department.
