Man held after child porn found

A Davenport man was being held on charges of sexual exploitation of a minor after Davenport police officials said they found child pornography in his bedroom Sunday afternoon.
Tracy Alan Barnett, 39, of 2745 W. 34th St., was being held on $86,775 bond late Sunday, according to the Scott County Sheriff’s Department.
After Barnett’s roommate told police she allegedly had seen child pornography on the computer in his bedroom, police served a search warrant at the residence.
Police said they found photos with pornographic images. Six contained images of children who appear to be younger than 14, police said. They include images of naked children and children having sexual intercourse with other children and adult men, police said.
Several pair of underwear belonging to the roommate and her daughters, age 17 and 8, were found in Barnett’s bedroom. Total value of the stolen underwear was about $300, police said.
The roommate also told police she found her daughter’s Barbie dolls with genitalia drawn on them and placed in a sexual position.
During the search, police also found a glass-and-metal pipe with suspected marijuana residue in Barnett’s bedroom.
Initially, Barnett was arrested for failure to register as a sex offender and taken to the Scott County Jail where he posted bond. He returned to the residence while the search warrant was being executed, police said.
Barnett was being held on charges of sexual exploitation of a minor, possession of drug paraphernalia, fourth-degree theft and failure to register as a sex offender.
Barnett, who is divorced, according to his arrest report, is scheduled to appear this morning in Scott County Court.
