A collapsed sewer line has forced a delay in reopening Davenport’s busy Five Points intersection.

The intersection where Locust and Division streets and Hickory Grove Road all meet was originally scheduled to be closed Thursday and Friday for resurfacing. However, street crews said the collapsed line will force them to work this weekend.

The intersection will remain closed while crews make emergency repairs, according to a city news release. Officials are still trying to determine the severity of the collapse and the length of time the intersection will have to remain closed.
