Health conference focuses on forgiveness

Trinity Regional Health System will present its 10th annual spirituality and health conference, “Promoting Forgiveness,” on Friday, Nov. 3, at The Lodge, Spruce Hills Drive and Utica Ridge Road, Bettendorf.
Two duplicate presentations will be given from 9-11 a.m. and 5-7 p.m.
The conference will feature Dr. Everett Worthington, a noted psychology professor and lecturer who found the ability to forgive after his mother was murdered. His presentation will focus on defining forgiveness and its relationship to justice, its effects on physical and mental health, and ways individuals can reach the forgiveness of others.
Worthington is the director of “A Campaign for Forgiveness Research” and a psychology professor at Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond. He has been featured in People magazine, USA Today and quoted in Time magazine.
