    The 47th National Chicken Cooking Contest is offering a grand prize of $100,000 for the nation’s best chicken recipe.

    There will be four runner-up prizes of $10,000, $5,000, $2,000 and $1,000.

    Recipes are due Oct. 15.

    To enter online, visit www.eatchicken.com or fax recipes to (202) 293-4005.

    One person will be chosen from each state and the District of Columbia to compete in the National Chicken Cooking Contest on May 4 in Birmingham, Ala.

    Judging will be on the basis of taste, appearance, simplicity and overall appeal.
