Scott Community offers food classes

Scott Community College’s Continuing Education Department is offering a varied assortment of food classes in the coming weeks.

Exotic Indian Cuisine is set for Oct. 2. Menu items include khatti dall (cabbage with mustard seed), almond chicken and rice and carrot kheer. Participants also will receive tips on finding Indian spices locally. The class will be held at Pleasant Valley High School and the course number is 18539.

High Tea & Breakfasts will be held Oct. 11 and features the favorite tea and breakfast recipes from three popular area bed and breakfasts. The class will be held at Bettendorf High School and the course number is 18499.

Puff Pastry on Oct. 16 features puff pastries and phyllo hors d’oeuvres and desserts with the pastry chef from the Short Hills Country Club. The class will be held at Pleasant Valley High School and the course number is 18339.

Each class will be from 6:30- 9:30 p.m. and costs $19. To register, call the Scott Community College registration center at (563) 441-4100 or toll free (888) 336-3907.
