Emergency manager hired in Jackson

MAQUOKETA, Iowa — The Jackson County Municipal League has hired a new emergency management director. Lyn Medinger of Bellevue will begin duties Oct. 9

He replaces Dr. Robert Deegan, who is retiring.

Medinger is currently a firefighter with the City of Clinton. He is also paramedic with Paramount Emergency Medical Services in Dubuque and Jackson County Regional Health Center in Maquoketa. In addition, he has been the director of Bellevue Emergency Medical Services for five years. He also is a Bellevue volunteer firefighter.

Medinger will coordinate the county’s emergency management team as well as continue to secure grants for the operations. He and his family live in Bellevue.
