Q-C Cruisers help charities

The Quad-Cities Cruisers will distribute money to five local charities Saturday during the club’s cruise at the Maid-Rite restaurant, 779 Middle Road, Bettendorf.
The presentation is in keeping with the mission of raising money for charity while enjoying their hobby of driving classic vehicles, John Gross, publicity chairman, said. The cruise is from 6-9 p.m., with the presentation at 7 p.m.
Each receiving checks for $1,000 are Black Hawk Area Education District, Special Olympics, Children’s Miracle Network, Scott County Disabled American Veterans and cancer patient Juan Martinez. The rain date for the presentation is Oct. 7 during the club’s cruise at SouthPark Mall.
Club officers are John Bain, president; Tom Saelens, vice president; Brett Mueller, recording secretary; Darrell Longlett, treasurer and Darci Pettit, corresponding secretary.
The directors are Pete Ortiz, Walt Hinz, Steve Smit, Mike Doyle, Rob Pettit, Pedro Lopez, John Cox, Bill Bisby and Gross.
