CLARENCE, Iowa — Two Cedar County teens were severely injured Saturday after a single-vehicle rollover accident that left one victim in the roadway while the other was trapped in the vehicle, authorities said.

Cedar County Chief Deputy Lyle Fitch said the accident occurred 7:20 a.m. about two miles east of Clarence on 140th Street.

The vehicle, registered to Ron Hasselbusch of Clarence, was eastbound on 140th Street when it partially entered the north ditch. The vehicle came out of the ditch and then rolled several times on the roadway. It came to rest on its top in a field south of the road.

Injured in the accident were Jaime Hasselbusch, 15, of Clarence, and Travis Minar, 14, of Lowden, Fitch said.

One of the teens was found on the roadway while the other was trapped in the vehicle, he added, without naming who was found where. It was not known who was driving the vehicle, he said.

Both teens were airlifted to University Hospitals, Iowa City; one by Air Care and the other by Lifeguard.

Their conditions were not available Saturday.
