Palmer College of Chiropractic has been awarded a $750,000 Kresge Foundation challenge grant for what is known as bricks and mortar funding.

The grant is intended help the college reach its capital campaign goal of $35 million. Including the Kresge grant, the funding total is at $31,557,579 in cash and pledges, and the campaign is on track to reach its goal by Dec. 31, college officials said.

The Kresge funds will be dedicated solely to construction of the Chiropractic Learning Resource Center, which is being built on the Davenport campus.

“This is a tremendous moment for Palmer College,” said Larry Patten, the college’s chief executive officer. “We are truly honored to be awarded this grant from The Kresge Foundation. This award affirms our position as a strong institution within the chiropractic profession, and it supports our efforts to provide our students the highest-quality chiropractic education.”

Kresge is a national foundation with $3 billion in assets. Through its grant-making programs, the foundation seeks to strengthen nonprofit organizations by catalyzing their growth, connecting them to their stakeholders and challenging greater support through grants.
