Aledo (Ill.) School Board member Dwight Shoemaker has pleaded guilty to a prostitution charge in Scott County.
Shoemaker entered the plea in Scott County District Court and received deferred judgment Wednesday, placing him on probation until March 9, 2007.
Frank Bockman, the interim superintendent of the Aledo School District, said Thursday that the board has not taken any action since Shoemaker entered his guilty plea.
“The board doesn’t have enough information yet to discuss this,” he said.
Bockman said the board may discuss Shoemaker’s future as a member at some point, but he does not know when.
Davenport police said Shoemaker was one of 10 people charged with prostitution after an undercover operation conducted Oct. 28. The incidents all happened in the 900 block of West 2nd Street.
Police used surveillance and undercover officers in the investigation.
Shoemaker served as Aledo’s city attorney for 30 years
