Health care task force seeks testimony
A public hearing on health care will be 4-6 p.m. Wednesday on the second floor of Wallenberg Hall at Augustana College, 3520 7th Ave., Rock Island.
Individuals wishing to testify about access to quality, affordable health care may sign up at the hearing of the Adequate Health Care Task Force under the Health Care Justice Act. People will be given three minutes to speak and will testify in the order in which they sign up.
Written testimony may be submitted to Tracy Morgan, Illinois Department of Public Health, Division of Health Policy, 525 W. Jefferson St., Springfield, IL 62761, via e-mail as an attachment to Morgan at tmorgan@idph. state.il.us or at the hearing.
A handicap entrance is located on the north side of the building.
Clinton, Iowa
Composting workshop scheduled for Thursday
A composting workshop will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Clinton County Recycling Center, 4292 220th St., Clinton, Iowa. The class will cover how to compost yard and food waste. Participants can purchase bins for $30 and turners for $15.
Instruction on creating a vermicompost bin, which is used for composting with worms, will be available to those interested. Those wanting to make a vermicompost bin must order a bin for $8 when registering. Registration is required by Monday at (563) 847-7202.
Kewanee, Ill.
Event will feature
candidate forum, dinner
The Henry County Republican Central Committee will hold its annual Lincoln Day Dinner fundraiser March 17 at the Flemish American Social Club, Kewanee, Ill.
The event will begin with a meet and greet at 5:30 p.m., presentations from statewide candidates at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner and the 17th Congressional Candidates Forum featuring Andrea Zinga, Jim Mowen and Brian Gilliland. The event will include a silent auction and dessert auction. Tickets are available for a donation of $30. Reservations are required by Monday at (309) 944-6463.

Trivia night to benefit library building fund
A trivia night to benefit “Turning the Page,” the Moline Public Library new building fund, will begin with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. and trivia at 7 p.m. March 17 at Highland Park Bowl and Fargo Lounge, 4204 Avenue of the Cities, Moline. Cash prizes will go to the top three teams and door prizes and raffles will take place throughout the event.
Cost is $10 per person and food is allowed, but drinks must be purchased at the cash bar. No smoking is allowed. To register, call (309) 736-5737.

Donations accepted for woman with breast cancer
Donations are being accepted for Diane Smith, 48, of Marion, Ill., and formerly of Davenport and Moline. Smith, who also has been known as Diane Wedertz and Diane Kaskadden, has been diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer.

Israeli ensemble to host forum, performance
Esta, an Israeli ensemble that blends Mediterranean, Balkan, African, Asian, Celtic and Western influences, will hold a public outreach session at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Cordova District Library, 402 Main Ave., Cordova, Ill.
The group will give a public performance at 7 p.m. March 18 at the Capitol Theatre, 336 E. 3rd St., Davenport. Tickets for the performance are $8 for adults and free for students and children. The musicians are in the Quad-City area as part of the Midwest World Fest, a global education and outreach performing arts initiative that provides inspiring arts enrichment and instills awareness and appreciation for other cultures.
