Bettendorf

n Art — Artwork of students from Bettendorf High School will be on display from Monday through March 31 at Bettendorf Public Library, 2950 Learning Campus Drive, Bettendorf. The exhibits are open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

n Drumming — Quad-City drummer Mona Ritemon will perform from 12:15-12:45 p.m. today at Bettendorf Public Library, 2950 Learning Campus Drive, Bettendorf. The program is part of the Brown Bag Lunch Series and will include an introduction to the djembe drum and its African origins and a drumming performance. Bring a brown bag lunch and drink free coffee from Dewey’s Café during the program.

n Senior Day — A Senior Day program will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Bettendorf Public Library, 2950 Learning Campus Drive, Bettendorf. John Lynn of Peoria, Ill., will show slides of his nearly 400-mile mountain bike trip crossing the Continental Divide by the Lewis and Clark’s Corps of Discovery path.

n Discussion — A discussion of the historical mystery, “The Winter Queen,” by Boris Akunin will be from 9:30-11 a.m. March 18 in the Malmros Room at Bettendorf Public Library, 2950 Learning Campus Drive, Bettendorf.

Davenport

n Toads — Toads will be the focus of the Master Gardeners’ program, “Critters in the Garden!” at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Davenport Public Library Main Street location or 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Davenport Public Library-Fairmount Street. The program will include hands-on activities, story time, crafts and exhibits. Registration is required by calling (563) 326-7900.

n French — Children ages 6-12 can learn simple French phrases at 1 p.m. Saturday at Davenport Public Library Main Street location. The program will be offered again at 1 p.m. March 25 at Davenport Public Library-Fairmount Street. Registration is required at (563) 326-7900.

n Pajamas — Papas and PJs story times meet from 6-6:30 p.m. March 14, 21 and 28 in the Story Time Room at Davenport Public Library-Fairmount Street. Tuesday’s theme will be “Music around the World.” Families are invited to come to the event in their pajamas and activities will include stories, crafts and an occasional movie and snack.

n Film — The German film, “The Forest for the Trees,” will be shown at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Davenport Public Library-Fairmount Street. Discussion will follow the film.

LeClaire, Iowa

n Discussion — The book discussion series “In the Middle of the Midwest” will continue at 10 a.m. Saturday at LeClaire Community Library, LeClaire, Iowa. This month the discussion will center around “Take This Exit: Rediscovering the Iowa Landscape,” edited by Robert F. Sayre, who will lead the discussion.

Moline

n Bracelet — A Make a Daisy Bracelet Workshop for those ages 8 and older will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Moline Downtown Library and 7 p.m. Wednesday at Moline Southeast Library. To register, call (309) 736-5739.

Rock Island

n Taxes — “Income Tax Preparation for the Small Business Owner” is the theme for the next program in the series “Sell it Yourself!” which will be at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Community Room at Rock Island Main Library, 401 19th St., Rock Island. The free programs are designed for adults.
