History: Circadia was originally formed in 2004 by Jesse Wagner, Jed Cone, Patrick Davis and Rob Moberg. With this lineup they played numerous shows in the Iowa/Illinois area including the 2006 XMG International Music Conference in Chicago. During this phase, the group also played in Galesburg, Ill., Davenport, Iowa City and their hometown of Burlington, Iowa, among other places. 2007 proved to be a tumultuous time for Circadia. Before beginning tracking for their debut full length album "Descent," Jed announced that he would be relocating to Texas. During this time period Jesse broke his hand, which would keep the group from performing a final show with Jed. Undeterred, the band began auditioning vocalists and guitarists. After numerous tryouts, Circadia chose Ken Kempker to fill the vacant guitar slot and Patrick took over as lead vocalist in early 2008. With this lineup the group has already started writing songs for a follow up EP to "Descent." The new material picks up where "Descent" leaves off, moving in a heavier and more technically complex direction while still managing to focus on song writing. Circadia has already played several shows with this lineup for enthusiastic crowds in Peoria, Ill., Davenport, Macomb, Ill., and Keokuk, Iowa. Circadia is a band that refuses to be pigeonholed by any particular genre. They simply cannot be classified as a "metal band" or a "rock band" or whatever the buzz word of the week might be. Often combining crushing heaviness, beautiful melody and experimental ambiance all in the same track, Circadia has been compared to Tool, Pink Floyd and The Mars Volta.
